WCT Takes 4 Awards at Theatre Ontario Fest!

On Thursday May 20th, just before the long weekend, Whitby Couthouse Theatre packed up everything of the "The Long Weekend" and re-assembled the entire show as part of the Theatre Ontario Festival in London Ontario. The team worked exceptionally hard to re-build the set, setup lighting, and stage this hilarious comedy directed by Rob Calvert.

It's been more than 20 years since WCT attended this festival, and the show was performed for a packed house that ultimately gave a standing ovation! The production also came away with 4 awards!

Theatre Ontario Adjudicator's Award for:

Masterful Physical and Voice Performance Comedy" - Daryl Marks
Best Direction of comic pace and physical invention - Robert Calvert
Best Ensemble and Direction - Vanessa Taylor. Karen Brown, Ray Porrill and Daryl Marks, Robert Calvert Director)
Best Coordinated Production - Linda /Reese accepted for cast and crew (for best coordination set up/strike in the Palace Theatre)

Long Weekend Cast and Crew at Brunch - London

Youth Group's WIZ Wows! (June 2010)

Our Youth Group delivered an excellent performance of this Frank Baum adaptation of the Wizard of Oz from June 10th to 13th. Jazzy tunes, colourful costumes, flying monkeys and twirling twisters - this show had it all! We hope you enjoyed the production, and congratulate the group on another year well done!
